you know what /a/.

I miss old fashioned alien-invasion-giant-bugs-attack-earth-fight-for-humanity series. one where the objective is clear, the enemy is obviously evil and guilt-free hateable, cool and probably scientifically improbable technology, and the good guys(humans) win in the end. with the right mix of gore and drama and violence. thats not immature or shitty enough to be degraded by being mainstream, but not pretentious and tiresomely philosophical/psychological or tries too hard to be weird and edgy. with good, well rounded, three-dimensional characters that are actually compatible to real human beings while still maintaining that idealistic fictional quality that expands on and reveals depth to common stereotypes without falling into them.

is that too much to ask for, /a/?
