You guys really liked Gungrave more than Hellsing. I've seen Hellsing a few times and only the first ep of Gungrave. I think Hellsing at least started better. In Gungrave it's not obvious what the fuck is going on. With Hellsing, you get a clear picture of all the players involved in the series: Alucard, Cele's origins, the Hellsing organization. With Gungrave I got the same kind of feeling I get with a lot of the stuff I don't like: some vague reason for someone to go do something extraordinary. I loved the drawing style in Hellsing too, not to mention the themes of choice (killing comrades lol, being dead or a vamp) and loss of innocence (if you're into that kind of thing). I don't wanna sound like a litfag but I don't think there's any other way of describing what makes that series "cool".
