HAHAHA... too true.
I'm old (30). DBZ is old. Younger folks don't really understand what they're missing out on and how lucky they are for this whole internet thing. I had to walk five miles in snow up to my waist to get to a shop that would see subbed DBZ tapes in Maryland. It was great.
I'm truly jealous. It is a LOT easier to get stuff now. That said, it tends to reinforce the speed at which things are dubbed "shit or not shit".
I'd watch DBZ, and maybe get a new VHS tape every couple of months, depending on how fast/slow they would get to the shop. Yes, the buildup to SSJ was fucking great to watch, because I wasn't watching it all in a one-shot afternoon. There was anticipation. In retrospect, was it overly drawn-out? Sometimes, most of the time, yes. But was it fun to watch? Absolutely.
