I watched the first two episodes of this. It was okay, but not enough to get me watching more. It's certainly not good enough for $20/episode on a plain old DVD, unless it's some kind of super special edition or something.
Either they're worried about back-imports (in which case THAT'S WHAT FUCKING REGION CODES ARE FOR - yes, I know there are rippers that can strip them while ripping), or they seriously do not understand basic economics. In other words, they will probably make much more money selling them at $30 each for a 4/3/3/3 release, simply because the customer base increases so much, and even more at $25.
This is not Japan, where your market is only so big, and things go out of print all the time, so you might as well make as much as you can off of each copy. Nor is there a big anime rental market to pork. Nobody is going to have a title this obscure for rent other than Netflix and a few mom-n-pop comic book stores.>>9787465
So they sold 100 copies of a cup ramen commercial for $40 each? I guess that could be considered impressive... for a cup ramen commercial.
