Oh, I'm one of those too.
Did I mention I'm a fan of the seminal 1986 feature-length anime directed by Mamoru Oshii, Angel's Egg? It's quite a surreal and idiosyncratic film. The average anime fan would likely not be able to understand its deeper themes and have the insight to grasp what the creators intended to say.
Of course, I should also mention the score, which draws heavily from the composers I mentioned.
It's alright if you haven't heard of it, after all... I'm an anime connoisseur.
