Oh, come now. You make light of the abomination that was the Anime That Shall Not Be Named Because It Never Happened when you say that. It's faithful to the characters, art, and tone/style of the original. The adaptations of Fuuko and Kotomi's stories were as flawless as you can get, given the restrictions they had. Yeah, it sucks that they're not only not going with characters most of us like better but going out of their way to have their hearts broken pretty hard, but that's not nearly grounds for saying it's as bad as the you-know-what anime.
