>Why should the way I dress matter?
not to sound condescending(i know it really does, and is), but you've got a lot to learn.
i used to think like this. "i don't care about clothing or looks!" but the fact of the matter is that, logically, if you're interested in romance you should try to raise your odds as high as possible; looking good only increases them. some people naturally will literally think less well of someone who doesn't dress well, and not necessarily because they're stupid or bigoted; it puts doubt in other people's minds as to whether or not you care about looking the best you can, and i'll take a wild guess and say 80-95% of the population cares about being with someone who looks good.
ever played an MMORPG with a deep guild system? it's kind of analogous to how guilds want you to meet the application requirements BEFORE you join the guild, and promises to work hard to meet them after you join don't really matter, if you get what i'm saying. yes, i just made an analogy between girls and MMORPGs, this is probably the end for me. people don't tend to be attracted to people who MAY have no desire to look good even to their significant other, so you dress well to advertise the fact that you do. "may have no desire" is about the same as "has no desire" in this case, to the human psyche(in my experience).
of course if you have an incredible body, you're right it doesn't really matter that much how you dress(to an extent).
