Ah, so long ago it was I started watching Rozen Maiden.
I was first introduced to the show via the infamous desu meme, back in its heyday of repost on /b/ constantly. Mind you this was back when /b/ was good (read: when I spent time there, over a year ago).
In any case, I felt intrigued by the lady in the green dress in the Victorian-aristocratic dress (gothic lolita).
As each day passed I felt progressively stronger urges to watch it, urges I eventually satisfied in what started out as a nightfall and what became a marathon.
I couldn't put it down, the show was fabulous. And now my desk and room is littered with hundreds of dollars in Rozen Maiden figures, plushes, hand drawn illustrations, gengas from Peach Pit, and over 18,000 (eighteen thousand, that's no typo) very well sorted images.
I can no longer sleep without my fifty centimeter suiseiseki plush beside me.
