As for me, Max, I've been catching up on Hidamari Sketch x365, which is the second season of Hidamari Sketch. It's based off of a 4-koma manga by Ume Aoki, and the first volume is already on sale in the US. The series is a very laid back slice-of-life show, following the day to day life of an art student named Yuno and her friends through their time at an art high school. Though the show lacks any form of plot and moves at a pace that some might call 'too slow', the show remains one of my personal favorites because of its slow, relaxed pace, not unlike other anime series like ARIA and Azumanga Daioh. The show is animated by SHAFT and is characterized by very interesting abstract visuals such as photographs of real object added seamlessly with animated objects, such as Yuno's alarm clock, and strange back grounds comprised of simple patterns and colors. These strange effects add to the show's appeal and fit nicely with the theme of the art school that Yuno and her friends attend. Of course, the show is popular for starting the "nutbladder" meme, which was created after a strange poster on the /a/ imageboard claimed that the show's frequent use of widefaces made his 'nutbladder ache'. /a/ quickly caught on and now most threads on the show can't go far without someone mentioning that his nutbladder also hurts. The subs are a bit delayed, as the only sub group, SpoonSubs, is known for their delays in releases, but the show is still incredibly enjoyable and fun to watch. And, of course, it's pretty damn moe.
