The Japanese publisher Fujimi Shobo has announced that the ninth volume of Maruboro Akai's Kamen no Maid Guy comedy manga will have a limited edition that will bundle an anime DVD. The DVD will include one entirely new animated episode that did not air as part of the television series adaptation. There will be animated scenes that were "unairable" on television due to "ethical regulations." (The new animation will be set at a seaside hot spring.) The limited edition will also include a digest of the television series, a limited original cover, a picture label for the DVD, a reversible jacket, and other features.
The titular character of the story is a macho male agent who dresses as a maid to protect a young heir to a great fortune. Over 1.1 million copies of the previous eight volumes have been published. The manga has been running in Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine since 2004, and the television version aired from April to June this year.
