So, last night I came to the conclusion that, assuming history would take its course as it did in reality, magic users in the Strike Witches world should have been persecuted to the point of extinction due to the Inquisition having even more power, seeing as magic would be an actual threat rather than fiction. This would mean that the Catholic Church would have a much greater hold on the world in this universe, so the whole "Witches in the Army" thing, especially in the 1940's, seems incredibly illogical, as the Church (be it Catholic or the Church of England/Britannia) would be incredibly against such a thing, whether or not they could actually defeat the Neuroi.
Today, I thought "Why are they all wearing civilian clothing?" That's another fallacy in this show. Given the fact that they're irregulars in the RAF, they should be wearing at least some sort of uniform, be it Britannian or wherever they came from. Wearing a school uniform to battle... my suspension of belief can't handle that much...
Also, if the scientists can create the Striker Units, why don't they at least create a flight suit for them? I can let them write off air pressure and intense speeds as "Oh, well, magic protects them", but that still doesn't mean that they shouldn't be wearing a flight suit. It can protect them from stuff that magic can't. It'd increase their durability and, hell, if they can hook up some sort of magic-amplifying technology to the suits, it can increase their combat efficiency.
That, and it'd cover up their panties and make the show tolerable.
I think this shit out too much, don't I?
