Well, apparently your arrogance has returned, if you keep talking down about America. You don't live here, you don't know what it's like. You only get a filtered version of it. Unless you have some American friends; which, then, I stand corrected, you do at least know some people who are experiencing it firsthand and have a little ground to base your arguments on. But if all you're basing your statements on is stuff you've heard on TV or read on the Internet, then you're only getting a filtered version and you're no better than an American writing an eloquent paragraph filled with British stereotypes.
We're not as stupid and arrogant as the rest of the world would like to think we are. Yes, there are some idiots out there. There are people who represent us badly and that's why those stereotypes were formed. But unless you're living in America and you know what's going on, you really have no grounds to say all those things. Not all of us go around saying that the world revolves around America. It's just like with any other bad stereotype, a small but vocal minority makes the majority look bad.
I do agree with you on your point about humility though. That's the one part of your post that actually didn't make me so irritable. Humility is an amazing quality.
Just don't let what a few idiots and our administration did/do ruin your opinion of us. I promise you, we're not all that ignorant, arrogant, and stupid. We're not all that bad.
