People like you are the ones that make anyone with any practical knowledge of a field want to slap the hair off your head every time you open your mouth.
I try to keep my mouth shut every time someone goes on and on about how deep or meaningful or "psychological" Evangelion is, but goddamn! Sure, Anno had therapy, and learned some psychology buzzwords from his head-nodding shitty therapist, and maybe a library book or two. So? The application of his "knowledge" in the anime itself is so astonishingly bad that the only people that can be (and subsequently always are) so impressed with it are people with an extremely rough idea of what such subjects are about and who can therefore take the imagery and interactions between the characters as some incredibly insightful and clever work.
It's like being impressed with the "super-science" of Star Trek. Ridiculous.
