A small flashback to Allen and Cross's conversation. Cross said, "There is a hidden side to this war. Don't die this time." (Or maybe that's "I won't die this time." Pronoun is not clear.)
Malcom is still wary of Allen. Link is part of the Crow (what's the crow? The watch group?)
Lavi asks Bookman what the "hidden side of the war" means. Bookman says not to think about it until he allows it. He tells Lavi never to speak of it again.
Cross is alone in his room. He thinks to himself that Allen has gotten more cheeky. So, it hasn't been all bad since Allen came to the Order.
There's a knock on his door, and the door opens.
Scene change. Allen wakes up and says it's morning.
Scene change again. Final page of chapter. A gun (maybe Cross's but maybe not) has fallen on the floor and Cross lays still. There is blood on the window and the bed. The overlay text says, "Cross has fallen."
