I had a great time.
Found my old NERV mug, and sat around waiting for the water to boil. Going through the steps of preparing a simple cup of tea reminded me of my first time doing it, who know how many years back.
I picked volume two, because it's my favorite to re-read. Although it was a bit hard to read at first, the sun hurting my eyes and all, after a while they adapted.
Maybe that's the thing, we grow too comfortable in our dark caves of digital nurture and forget to re-adapt to meatspace.
I snoozed for a bit under the summer sun, until my skin started to itch. I tan too easily, and now I'm a bit darker. It's amazing how so much time indoors make you paler, even for brown skintone standards...
I didn't know there were squirrels around my house. It was amusing to see it jump around, dashing from place to place, and munching away at random fruit.
And finally, with every sip of delicious tea (with a dash of mint and cinnamon), I thought about the anonymous around the world who likewise enjoy a quiet cup of tea, coffee, or whatever. Like sharing a table in silence across time and space.
Well, back to the usual. Better start writing, deadline is closing in...
