Oh yes. A series SO good, they had to get a British actor (Hugh Laurie) to play the eponymous role. Proof that the quality of stuff in the US is going down the shitter (as well as it's actors. Two Words: Tom Cruise). The fact that Hollywood is resorting to 'threequels', adaptations of books, comics, TV series - and stage musicals, and even film versions of stage musical adaptations of existing films (The Producers) proves that Hollywood is eating itself. Further proved by their making live-action versions of anime: DBZ, Battle Angel Alita, Akira & GitS.
The next sound you hear is that of metal scraping against concrete. Because the producers/scereenwriters etc have gone through the wood of the original concepts barrel to find the last subatomic particle of a new idea, and reached the floor underneath.
And you wonder why I ONLY watch anime these days?
