And I'm not arguing that. I agree to an extent but there are two things wrong. 1) When approaching FTL speeds conventional distance and time are fucked up due to time dilation 2) teleportation requires to know the place and imagine it.
You have a reaction time of 0.000321. You see a threat heading towards you, that is already 0.000321 seconds gone because of your reaction time. You decide to teleport to another country. It'll take you several seconds in addition to the 0.000321 seconds of reaction time to imagine the place you are porting to.
So while the teleportation is instant, the various steps and limitations of the person's reaction time is not. Unlike FTL speed which is widely accepted, if you can run FTL then you have FTL reflexes which adds upt to instantaneous travel.
