Yeah, I'm that guy.
You misunderstood. I didn't mean I'd change myself to become any exact type of person she wanted, I meant I would strive to be a better man. A capable, self-assured, incredibly confident man, the kind of man she wouldn't just see as a tool to be used for her own ends. A taker, not unlike her. I'm already striving for that, anyway. We'll be selfish, together. Working to mutually beneficial selfish ends when talking about the big picture. I don't care if along the way she eats my ramen and I'm left to eat the shitty brand.
Also, what it comes down to is the nature of her character. You seem a lot more pessimistic in regards to that, seeing no real good in her (there have been several like you berating me, even if that wasn't what you yourself were doing). You might remember my argument. I just don't believe that I'm just seeing what I want to see, what isn't actually there, some idealized version of her. What I'm saying is, if you watch episode 6, where they're on the road...
I don't consider it a great farce, an act solely for the sake of manipulation. I think aspects of her character are overwhelmingly genuine, versus the aspects that are not. She just might not divulge whole information and keeps her eye on the prize for her own sake. It's still manipulative, but it's far from what some have suggested of her.
