Sorry, but you are wrong. The quality of the video is determined by the bitrate. R2 DVDs usually have bitrates close to the maximum DVD bitrate of 9.8 mbit since they do not cram the episodes in. By contrast, standard bitrates for R2 dvds are approximately 5mbit. This results in a noticable decrease in video quality.>>12906078
R2 only has one audio track, and it is usually stereo. They use uncompressed PCM because it is free from licensing fees.
R1 dvds include at least English and Japanese, and usually both a 5.1 and stereo version of the English track. Together they take up as much or more space than the uncompressed 2 channel Japanese audio.
