These threads are stupid because unlike tier threads, they're too serious to be funny.
The quality of character design will always, always, ALWAYS be a purely subjective issue, intimately tied to whatever anime/manga the characters are being designed for. The only objective component of it is the designer's technical skill (hi SEED/s-CRY-ed guy who can only draw like one fucking female face, EVER.), and even that is highly dependent on the context of the show in question.
There is NO way, no way in HELL, to OBJECTIVELY determine the "greatest" character design of all time across all anime and manga, because then it no longer becomes a technical question but a philosophical question. What the hell do you value the MOST in an anime's aesthetics -- and are those tied more to the skill of the designer, or is it more of a function of the show at large that carries these characters?
