Yeah, I can see that. Though it did make one episode effective, where the magician is threatened and you're like, "Ha, he's gonna cower because he says he's been to hell and back and is just being showy" and then "HOLY FUCK HE KNOWS MAGIC! HE JUST FUCKED UP HER SERVANTS! FUCK YEAH!" and his threats about escaping again.
Unfortunately, why I think the repetitiveness really shown through was because it DID have a plot that started to appear and it tried to squeeze that into it's episodic nature in a poor manner. They all ended the same, etc. even though these characters were introduced. If they mixed it up a bit more, like some people chose not to, or someone fucked it up or whatever, it would've been better. That being said, I still liked it.
