Seconded, in a way. Giant robots in these media tend to take leeway with physics in a way that gets called "fluid" but just seems rubbery. I think I like the two extremes of complex, utilitarian machinery that doesn't resemble an animal of any sort at all and things like Eva and the messes of quasi-living cyborg abominations in Blame that are bending, straining, bleeding because of their own pointless hugeness, as if gravity actually has an effect and the energy it takes to move is appropriately immense.
