You're not being selfish. Thinking about yourself at this stage is not only reccommended, it's neccessary. It's good that you're actually able to realize them. A lot of people coast through life never thinking about themselves in any critical way.
The reason you're thinking about all your faults is because right now you're a very faulty individual. Okay, that seems a bit harsh, but if you were completely worthless, you would have offed yourself a long time ago. Just consider, if you've talked with this girl on a semi-regular basis, it's a victory. Leech some pride off of that, you deserve it. Consider that, as minor aa it was, as an example that hey, if you did it before, why the hell couldn't you do it again. If you're mourning over it, you should already have
Now what you really need is a safe social environment where you can, essentially, practice your social skills. Surely they can't be that bad, you sound like a pretty friendly guy, right? What I'm saying is, do you have a job where you're working with other people?
Also, and this is the most important part, do you have a hobby? Not watching anime. I mean, a creative output. Do you play an instrument? Painting, drawing, doodling, anything. Even solving math equations. Achieving personal satisfaction with a personal ability is one of the most liberating feelings in the world. It will give you such a confidence in yourself you never really knew you could have.
And don't watch Lucky Star, it's not worth your time.
