>>12679371>If you want to get into it, there is actually no such thing as a generally "shit show" unless everyone on the entire planet agrees it's shit.
Mouse would like to have a worth with you. Also, I'm ignoring your ad fallacies. Enjoy.>Just KNOWING that there are things in TTGL that already exist in anime automatically makes it unpalatable and they shy away from it.
Problem being that Gainax has not been the first to do it. Other studios did all of that stuff long before Gainax did, and much better. If nothing else, TTGL is just rabid fanboy wank material, little different than the issues of Maxim sitting in m bathroom. I watch new anime for new material. If that wasn't the case, I'd just watch the old stuff again.>>12679391
Your first statement, that GL is a commercial success, is obviously true. Your correlation wit its quality is not; by those standards, Naruto is a thousand times better than TTGL. Your second statement is uncorroborated, and since you are not a published expert on the subject and your statements are not falsifiable, your argument holds no weight.>Gurren-Lagann is the first show of its kind to have that particular story, setting, and characters. Therefore it is original. It is not an adaptation. It is not a sequel. It is its own show.
Rurouni Kenshin had characters, setting and some story elements taken from Samurai X, yet was original in many respects. Gundam SEED had original characters, setting and plot, yet was rehash. I fail to see the correlation.
