Golden Boy's main character is a likable badass who's good at everything, but you can still identify with him because his character flaws of being dumb and peverted are crippling enough to balance out his skill in all areas. The viewer can't help but sympathize with him and his enthusiastic desire to help, especially in episodes 3 and 6. Not that I expect you to know, since you only watched episode 1.
CAD is an author self-insertion where the main character can do all the "wacky antics" the writer can't do in real life. Except the writer ran out of ideas for "wacky antics" and the comic is a soulless shell of a work, lacking artistic integrity or purpose. I can't think of anything as bad as CAD.
