My friends, who are mostly the people I study with, know that I have never had a girlfriend, and shy away from social interaction. I don't whine about being ronery, but they know.
Today, I was standing behind another guy, checking on a run of Conway's game of life. A girl tried to squeeze past behind me. "Excuse me", she said, putting her hands on my hips. I moved away, letting her through, and thought nothing of it.
My friend looks at me, and grins. "Oh god, finally, human interaction!" he says.
I just smirked and continued working. Yeah, it was the first female interaction I had in months. I swallow the feeling of roneryness, and try to forget how nice it felt.
