I just finished watching Kaiji (somewhat slowpoke). I found it to be an enjoyable series, but the final episode left me feeling a little crestfallen. He didn't notice a crease in the paper so now he is back to where he started minus a few body parts? That's just not a satisfactory ending. My other gripes were that it got terribly slow at parts and that it was too static and spent too much time in the same environment. For example, it was a great relief on the eyes seeing Kaiji working at the store after staring at the red carpet of the boat for 10 episodes. However, the tension in some of the other scenes and interesting art style make up for these flaws.

Also, wikipedia says the manga has 38 volumes. I'm assuming the story continues and Kaiji participates in more gambles. Is any of it worth checking out?
