It has been a difficult time for all, ever since the wall went up. Old friends faded away, and newcomers took their place instead.
Most of them, in order to mix in our midst, parroted that the current state of the land was greatly impoverished. Hence, the land did become poor, as many retired to better places as the perceived effect of the summer was magnified beyond it's real capacity.
Hard times indeed, but we keep at it, hoping for a better time. Maybe when we learn to accept it and not treat the land as a whore long past her prime, we can enjoy its harvest again.
