What you want, namely what your knee-jerk emotional response is, does not always coincide with what is the best course of action.
The fact that America got pissed off about 9/11 and started hating muslims for a few years is what allowed our dear commander to rally the people and go invade Iraq who had nothing to fucking do with it in the first place.
It's understandable to get pissed off, but that doesn't excuse acting irrationally. In an ideal world you KNOW who's responsible, in the real world you may be kicking the wrong person's ass.
Hussein was a bad man, but you know what? We can't fix Iraq, we can't install freedom there, because their entire culture is drowning in religious fundamentalism.
We can't save them from that, they WANT that, they LIKE it, they just have two sides with different kinds of religious fundamentalism and each side wants to wipe the other out of existence
And even if the Iraqis wanted to be rational and educated and learn there's a better way of living than getting your cock bent every time someone insults your religion, OUR COUNTRY IS NOT THE ONE TO TEACH IT TO THEM because we are so shit-deep in Christian Fundamentalism that we cannot set an example.
