I know, who'd have thought that drowning good titles in a sea of shit was a bad marketing ploy?
TP's philosophy has been to buy the most shelf-space from bookstores to reduce competition. When bookstores expanded shelves to sell more manga as it got more profitable, TP bought more space to scale up, then needed to fill all that space to keep shouldering out competition, instead of allowing some diversity into the market. In a way them scaling back is a good thing, but it's going to cause a lot of hurt because they waited so long and did it so drastically.
Fucking marketing majors, I know art majors who are better at math.
