Hey /a/, I bring a question that's been bugging me for a while.

I live in an area with very few people who even know of anime and manga, but eventually, the area will become infested with them, I'm sure.

With the growing popularity of anime and manga, it's going to end up having a 'look' attatched to it to the outside world. This is where my picture becomes related.

Death Note is (probably) the most popular manga in the west at the moment, and it's a great series in my opinion, but it coupled with the many semi-popular shows over here containing vampires and similar things, seem to be giving anime a gothic kind of feel in the west.

Eventually, will anyone reading manga or watching anime be considered a scene or goth faggot, and treated as such? Or is anime and manga going to end up with a different look entirely over here?
