I might've been a little harsh, you seemed like the regular shithead weeaboo, but apparently you are not, and I apologize.>>It just seems really awkward to me If big badass pirates who are obscenely strong are talking about how their friends are totally stronger than your friends. Seems like a shallow translation of a broader term.
Well I'd beg to differ, there is nothing weird about having friends no matter badass or strong you are, but in the end, this only comes down to personal preference, there aren't any rights or wrongs about this particular case. How about "companions", then?>>Fixed. >>Who?
I'm starting to love you already.>>12052304
あかんべ (int,n) facial gesture of pulling one's eyelid down and sticking out one's tongue
That is the translation of it. Of course, if somebody said "don't do an akanbe at me", I wouldn't translate it to that, because that would mean that I was a retard. I'd then translate it to "don't mock me", or something along those lines. Translated, nevertheless.>>12052427
Actually, I wasn't being sarcastic. Granted, you can find words who'll require many words in English, but you can translate them nevertheless.
"Wo" is a grammatical function that indicates a direct object, not a word. You can't really translate "the" to Japanese either.
