Should be revising for maths test on monday.

Anyone fancy telling me the whole thing on how to work out this batty? How do i assign abc to numbers?

x= -b +/- *root this bit now* b2-4ac

all divided by 2a?

The a b c numbers come from the quadratic equations you're probably working with, the ones that have the basic structure ax^2 + bx + c = 0 where a doesn't equal 0 (otherwise it'd be linear).

Oh right yeah i remember, thanks-!

but one problem, say now

x^2+2x+3

a=1

b=2

c=3

If i used that formulae and put it as 4^2+2x+5

for the first bit, would a be 16 or 4?

b = 2

c = 5

a * x ^ 2 + b * x + c = 0.

the solution is the quadratic formula you just posted. Use the coefficients a, b and c accordingly.

Well, they were definitely my favourites from the dub. And so far their commentary on episode 8 in the Platinum discs is the only one I have really enjoyed (Though I only have discs 2 and 3). Speaking of which, the one she did with her husband just seemed awkward, particularly when he started talking about how Ritsuko wears a wetsuit.

I was really looking forward to it when they said she was going to voice Yoko in TTGL. But then that got cancelled. ;_;

I don't think you can solve that with the quadratic equation right?

Inside the sqrt would be 2^2-(4*4*5) which would be a negative number.

no,the solutions for this equation are X1 and X2

first you figure out a b and c

then D=b^2-4ac

then X1/X2=-b+/-sqrt D all divided by 2a

so basically if you have

x^2+3x+2=0

D=3^2-4.1.2

if D < 0 then the equation does not have roots

if D = 0 then the equation has only one root(x = -b/2a)

if D > 0 then the equation has two roots (X1 and X2)
