Has a limited sense of perception. I'd say that Kaiba exercises it's underlying themes of love and value of love, wisdom, and etc. quite well. It doesn't need a HEUG catharsis each episode just to make it good. Kurenai is a slice of life that relies on characters and character interactions rather than a usual story of exposition, build up, climax, and resolution. Rather than having a story that the characters grow from and learn from their actions, they learn from each other through social interaction. Watching that interaction take place is entertaining in a fresh fashion. Sure, it isn't the first to do so but it has been a while since something of this work that I enjoyed. Rather than Lucky Star, I wanted something like Zettai Shounen.
