while you watch the episode, you wont notice a difference. The story is still told, and most people will still enjoy it even if it doesn't look as good as it could, its still very tolerable.
That said, some people really cant stand bad quality rips, and for those people who want quality over speed, you got menclave.
Why does /a/non loath options for fansubs? Sometimes it's pointless (like when you have 7 groups subbing geass), but when you have two major groups subbing a show. And one is doing speed while another is doing quality, isn't it a win/win for all?
