I'm not that guy, but I just happen to be watching Kino currently at about the same rate. Now that you mention it, with these last couple of episodes, they're very similar. Kino's a bit more accessible standalone, with Kaiba it sort of gives you the feeling that you want more immediately because there's definitely something bigger going on. This is a good thing too I suppose.
To tell the truth I like Kino more, just because of the titular character being better so far, all else being equal for what it's worth in my eyes. Amnesiacs aren't too interesting until they start to remember all the babies they ate or whatever.
Good stuff. Both remind me of why I watch anime.
