Lelouche is a dick. He deserves to die alone.
Clovis was an cruel tyrant who oppressed the elevens and deserved to die, right? However, the main reason Lelouch went after him was because he thought Clovis might have been behind Marianne's murder. He wasn't, and we even see that Clovis even made a portrait of Lelouch, Nunnally, and Marianne that he kept in his estate. Clovis would often play chess with Lelouch. In the CD Dramas, we even see that Clovis resented the Japanese for having killed Lelouch and Nunnally. Clovis offers to help Lelouch and Nunnally return to Britannia, and Lelouch instantly assumes that the offer is some sort of trick. In the end, Lelouch kills him.
Orange was originally a guard at the palace when Marianne was killed. He considered this his only major failure in life, and swore to make amends by transferring to Area 11, where Marianne's two children, Lelouch and Nunnally, had died. Had he found Lelouch, he would have done everything in his power to help him and Nunnally. However, all Lelouch does is destroy his career.
