>>11142068>There's no use arguing about it here. It's futile.
The only people who like fanservice or want it in their anime are sweaty, ronery otakus who only like anime for the fap-material it provides such as sexualized little girls, pink-haired alien girlfriends and LOL CAT-EARS. And 4chan's full of those kinds of viewers. Thusly why it's such a futile effort in trying to argue about it here.
i'll admit, i like all of those things. but i also like the artistic aspect. i mean, it's not so bad to have a moe character than all the ronery otakus can say, "oh man she looks like a nice person, befriending the token character insertion otaku character. i wish i knew someone like her". what's so bad about characters you can relate to? i think they tend to complement stories which focus on the development of an isolated character who slowly gains friends (chobbits, R+V, Eva, E7, GL, pretty much every mecha show).
on the other hand, if you're watching anime purely for the artistic valye (eg. Naussica), it's a legitimate concern that moe moe characters would ruin the serious tone of the anime. people who have this concern seem to be rare, because many fans value story over visuals. that's why you'd seem to be in the minority, and why the industry is crapping out more and more moeblobs/fanservice/general QUALITY animu. so don't expect it to change any time soon.
