I personally think the battle tactics are jsut a farce in Code Geass, it's not really what it's about though, for me.
The real "tactics" I see, are in the psych games Lulu (and some other chars) play in order to try to get things to go their way. The fun thing is they sometimes do and sometimes "DON'T" work.
A good plot is about ups and downs, twists, developments and endings.
The only thing Geass isn't achieving for me so far is an ending, which isn't that bad as yet, but if it hits 100 eps without resolution then i'll probably hate it like all others lol
The visual designs are only artsy, nothing more. The noodle style is rather appalling especially to those without open minds and who aren't used to it at all. I don't think it hurts the show at all though, it's mainly their to boost the visual effect of clothes on characters, visual elements around the character as such.
