Why would you hire a 30-something prick to warble his voice when you could go find an actual teenager? You could probably get away with paying them a lot less, and there's no shortage of kids who want to voice for cartoons if given the chance, so you're bound to find someone competent.
3 days of auditions in any urban area can net you a perfectly usable cast of voice actors. It's really not complicated.>>11028724
That is actually my fucking point. The crap dubs come with a list of voice actors who themselves come from a handful of big names (at least as big as you can get in the industry) who totally phone it in.
If you're going to have shit quality voice acting, you may as well find someone you can pay peanuts for it.
Of course, my opinion is that the real problem is not with the voice actors themselves, but with the lines they're given. Bad localization and a shoddy script can ruin any performance. Some lines you just can't make sound natural.
