The next day, K1 is absent from school because he's drowning Satoko's corpse in the lake after brutally killing her. Ooishi shows up, and sees him doing this. With clever wording, K1 says he's trying to get a few frogs for a lesson that the school will be doing at some point, ending with Ooishi helping out. K1 begins to lose his mind, and hits Ooishi with a log. K1 finishes burying Ooishi as well, then heads to school.
The following day, on the day of Watawhatever, Rika refuses to go on stage until she sees Satoko. The night goes on, and the festival fails with the lack of Rika's traditional dance. After the night ends, Rika goes to investigate, and finds a dried blood trail with Hanyuu's help. They follow it to the marsh where Rika frantically digs up the corpses. Satoko has worms crawling through her body, and her skin is decomposing. Hair clumps float to the surface, chunks of flesh peel off, and the withered eyeballs wiggle around by the retinas.
Rika panics, and runs through the forest. Hanyuu tries to calm Rika's panic, but Rika falls down a ledge, critically injuring her leg. She cannot walk with this wound, which is a bone jammed out of her leg at the knee. She crawls in a desperate move towards the road in hopes someone shows up to help her. She passes out after an hour of waiting.
K1 begins to worry about Rika, and the rest of the gang go out to look around. They find Rika's body at twilight hour, and all panic. Unlike previous arcs, the remaining members all go crazy, and they try to keep the deaths a secret. Each one ends up distrusting the other, and they slowly kill each other off. It ends with Shion killing K1 with a chair, and she finishes the job by slitting her wrist on a broken piece of the chair by accident. She screams out for help, but dies of blood loss before anything can save her.
