Personally, I much preferred the non-'plot' episodes of Bebop. The stuff with the syndicate really kinda paled to me with the kooky episodic stuff. It had its share of pretty sequences, to be sure, but it was a bit too GRR SERIOUS MAFIA IS SERIOUS, RAWR LIKE WE HAVEN'T SEEN THIS BEFORE for me.
Besides, it's not like Vicious was ever really developed much behind "Hi, I'm Vicious. I backstab everyone I meet because I JUST DON'T GIVE A FUCK. Also, I disagree with the direction of my employer to the point of occasional gruesome katana purges, and my old BFF stole my hot blonde GF, and that's just not cool." He looks cool, but he doesn't really DO anything, you know?
And for God's sake, this is not about fucking jazz, all right? This is about Bebop, plain and simple. This is certainly not to say you're wrong -- you're just not on-topic.
