What I'm talking about has nothing to do with "quality" and everything to do with "perception".
I liked SnS, but I agree, Rozen Maiden was much better.
And yet SnS has a FAR better chance of being a success (not a smash hit or anything, but profittable at least) than Rozen Maiden, despite Rozen Maiden being better and more popular among the "hardcore" (so to speak).
Now, if half the people on /a/ who liked Rozen Maiden had gone out and bought it, then it probably wouldn't have been a financial failure.
SnS is a show that is easier to market to the more casual set, due to being a sci fi, drama, instead of some "weird show about dolls"
(before anyone brings it up, no Emily does not invalidate this point, so don't even bother)
