"Anime is derived from cubism, and I don't see the defining traits amongst most of the characters there.

And coloring is a completely different subject altogether. That takes skill. Lots of it usually.

Insofar as I can see, the eyes are proportionate to head on most of the characters (5 eyes wide) and not any angles in body/facial construct, or at least none remaining given the highly rounded nature of the characters faces/bodies.

because once you really boil it down, anime/manga is really just a bunch of glorified traingles. Just like cubism is a bunch of glorified squares."
