There are two different facets of artistry that these anons could mean, though. There's the artistry in Concept; which I agree with, Pushing the envelope and all that, Trying to make something that hasn't already been made. This is what I tend to enjoy watching.
And there's the Artistry in Execution, Where, Yes, it HAS all been done, but now we're simply trying to make it better. And this latter category is where The Moe category lies. You can't argue that it hasn't been overdone, because it has. But at the same time, it HAS progressed to the point that the high budget + the long road it's taken to get here, may also be something worth watching.
