The rays do emit light, they're emissive materials.
Once again, I don't think that has any bearing on whether or not the glass of the canopy would distort or not.
I don't know what you mean by panel either.
If you mean the little lcd panel, that has nothing to do with it.
Pic related is what I'm trying to convey.
Notice how in the left image, the red and blue lines are straight.
That's what's happening right now in my images.
In the right image, the lines are curved. The glass of the cockpit is distorting the lines. Which is what I want to happen. Naturally, the rest of the scene would be distorted as well, but the lines are the best way to explain what I mean.
The distortion isn't really what would happen in real life, but it's something I'd like to do artistically.
The deciding factor of what should distort the image is the glass of the cockpit canopy. Nothing in the image would have any bearing on whether or not the glass will work the way it should.>>533283
I'm using cycles, things that work in the internal render have little bearing on what goes on in the other render engine.
I'm not really sure how to explain this in a way that helps.
